1896 yılında Peter Mackenzie ve Richard Stackpole tarafından kurulan Dufftown Damıtımevi, günümüzde, Glen Ord, Glendullan ve Dufftown damıtımevlerini “The Singleton” markası altında toplaysn Diageo’nun bir parçası. Singleton 18, birleşmenin gerçekleştiği 2006 yılında piyasaya sürülmüş ve o günden beri, güçlü ve dengeli yapısıyla, uygun fiyatlı bir Speyside single malt viski olarak bilinir.

Burun; mango ve şeftali benzeri taze meyveler, bal.
Damak; bitter çikolata, hafif bitkisel, tatlı baharat, çok katmanlı ve yumuşak.
Bitiş; uzun, lezzetli, yine baharat ve meşe.
Su kullanımı gerektirmeyen viskilerden. Kadehte bir kaç dakika havalanması viskinin açılması için yeterli. Böylece meyve rayihası hızlıca öne çıkmaya başlıyor.

Singleton 18, Amerikan burbon ve Avrupa şeri meşe fıçılarda olgunlaşıyor. Koyu altın renginde ama renklendirici olarak karamel kullanılıyor. Soğuk filtrasyon uygulanıyor ve %40 ABV ile şişeleniyor.

Singleton 18, uzun olgunlaşma süresi sayesinde, diğer genç ekspresyonlarına kıyasla, daha kompleks ve çeşitli aromalara sahip. Nose; fresh fruits like mango and peach, honey.
Palate; dark chocolate, slightly herbal, sweet spice, multi-layered and smooth.
Finish; long, savoury, more spice and oak.
You don’t need to add water to this one, just let it breathe for a couple of minutes after pouring it into the glass. The whisky opens up and reveals more fruit notes.

The Singleton 18 is matured in European (sherry) and American (bourbon) oak casks. The whisky is bottled at 40% ABV, caramel added and chill filtered with dark gold in colour.

Compared to The Singleton’s younger expressions, the 18-Year-Old offers greater depth and complexity, thanks to its longer maturation period. The distillery also uses traditional copper pot stills, and the spirit is distilled slowly for a smoother, more complex and distinctive character. When buying whisky, you can consider all of Singleton’s bottlings as a guaranteed choice and always enjoy them.
