Robur Reserve, 1878 yılında dört ortak tarafından kurulan Glenrothes Damıtımevinin, 2009 yılında travel retail olarak piyasaya sürdüğü ekspresyonu.

Burun; muskat, floral notalar.
Damak; karamel, kırmızı meyveler, baharatlı, tatlı, yumuşak ve hoş bir dokuya sahip.
Bitiş; kısa orta arası, meşe, karanfil keskinliği ve malt kuruluğu.
Kadehte bir kaç dakika geçirdikten sonra viskinin meyve aromaları öne çıkmaya başlıyor.

Robur Reserve, ilk dolum Oloroso şeri meşe fıçılarda olgunlaşıyor. NAS, 1 litre, soluk amber renginde ve renklendirici kullanılmıyor. Soğuk filtrasyon uygulanmadan, %40 ABV ile şişeleniyor.

Glenrothes Damıtımevi yaratıcı viskiler üretiyor. Kesinlikle sıkıcı değiller. Genç olmasına rağmen Robur Reserve bile, markanın 10 ve 12 yıllık şişelemeleri gibi, belirli bir standardın üstünde. Elbette kusursuz değil fakat oldukça dengeli ve zarif bir viski. Kendisini ilk kez, yıllar önce Kıbrıs’ta görmüştük. Geçen zaman zarfında yakın arkadaşlarım ile bir kaç şişe bitirme fırsatımız oldu. Denk gelirseniz hiç düşünmeden alabilirsiniz.

1. Ekspresyon adını, Quercus Robur isimli meşhur bir İspanyol meşesinden alıyor.
2. Glenrothes viskileri, bağımsız şişeleyiciler ve blend viski üreticileri tarafından büyük talep görüyor. Aynı zamanda, Berry Bros. & Rudd’un ünlü Cutty Sark harmanında önemli bir yeri var. 1922’de piyasaya sürülen Cutty Sark, halen dünyanın en çok satan viskilerinden biri.

The Glenrothes Distillery was founded by four partners in 1878 and their Robur Reserve, a travel retail Speyside single malt, was released in 2009.

Nose; nutmeg, floral notes.
Palate; caramel, red fruits, spice, sweet, smooth and zesty feeling.
Finish; long, savoury, more spice and oak.
After a couple of minutes of being poured into the glass, the whisky opens up and reveals more fruit notes.

The Glenrothes Robur Reserve is matured in European Oloroso sherry oak casks. The whisky is NAS, 1 litre, bottled at 40% ABV, with no colouring added and non-chill filtered with light amber in colour.

The Glenrothes Distillery produces creative whiskies. They are simply not boring. Even though Robur Reserve is young, it is still above a certain standard, like the brand’s 10 and 12-year-old bottlings. Of course, it could be more flawless but it is a well-balanced and elegant whisky. We first saw Robur Reserve years ago in Cyprus. Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to finish a few bottles with close friends. If you come across it, you can buy one without hesitation.

2. Independent bottlers and blenders have highly sought-after Glenrothes and the whisky plays a crucial role in Berry Bros. & Rudd’s Cutty Sark blend. Launched in 1922, Cutty Sark became one of the best-selling whiskies in the world.
