Klasik bir Speyside damıtımevi olan Glenrothes, 1878 yılında James Stuart tarafından kuruldu. 12 yıllık bu single malt ise, markanın beş farklı şişelemeden oluşan Soleo Koleksiyonu’nun bir parçası.

Burun; muskat, turunç, vanilya notaları.
Damak; kızılcık, sütlü çikolata, tarçın, keskin ve dengeli.
Bitiş; orta uzunlukta ve tertemiz, malt kuruluğu, baharat ve meşe.
Kadehte bir kaç dakika geçirdikten sonra viski giderek yumuşuyor. Su eklemeye gerek yok.

Glenrothes 12, sadece geleneksel şeri meşe fıçılarda olgunlaşıyor. Koyu altın renginde, soğuk filtrasyon uygulanıyor ve renklendirici kullanılmadan, %40 ABV ile şişeleniyor.

Glenrothes 12, tamamen şeri fıçılarda olgunlaşan ve koyu, yoğun tatlara evrilen bazı Highland Scotch’ların aksine, daha sakin ve hoş bir şeri karakteri sunuyor ve genel aroma dengesiyle öne çıkıyor. Fıçı tipi farketmeksizin, iyi kotarılmış Speyside single maltlarının hayranıyım ve 12 yıllık Glenrothes da kesinlikle bu kategoride. Her daim viski dolabımın vazgeçilmezlerinden.

The Glenrothes Distillery was founded by James Stuart in 1878. Its 12-year-old expression is a classic Speyside single malt and is part of the core range in their Soleo Collection.

Nose; nutmeg, bitter orange, vanilla notes.
Palate; cornelian cherries, milk chocolate, cinnamon, crisp and well-balanced.
Finish; medium, malty dryness, spice, bright and oaky.
The whisky gets smoother after a few minutes in the glass—no need to add water.

The Glenrothes 12 is fully matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks. The whisky is bottled at 40% ABV, chill-filtered, and dark gold in natural colour.

I’m a big fan of a well-crafted Speyside single malt, and this 12-year-old Glenrothes is no exception. Unlike some fully sherried whiskies that lean toward darker, richer flavors, this one stands out with its perfect balance while still showcasing a lovely sherried character. It’s always a staple in my collection.
