İlk kez 2005 yılında tanıtılan Glenlivet Nadurra, farklı ekspresyonlardan oluşan bir seri. 2014’de piyasaya sürülen Nadurra Oloroso ise, ailenin fıçı sertliğindeki üyelerinden. Kardeşleri, 16 yıllık (artık üretimi yok), “first-fill selection” ve “peated whisky cask finish” şişelemeleri.

Burun; muskat, karamel, bal.
Damak; kuru üzüm, zencefil, tatlı baharat, çikolata kaplı çilek topları, zengin ve yağlı.
Bitiş; orta-uzun arası, kendisinden beklenildiği gibi sıcak, baharatlı ve güçlü.
Bir kaç damla su ekledikten sonra viskinin keskin köşeleri törpüleniyor ve kırmızı meyveler öne çıkmaya başlıyor.

Glenlivet Nadurra, İspanya Jerez bölgesinden gelen ilk dolum Oloroso meşe fıçılarda olgunlaşıyor. NAS, parlak altın renginde ama renklendirici olarak karamel kullanılıyor. Soğuk filtrasyon uygulanmadan, %60.2 ABV ile şişeleniyor. İncelediğim viskinin seri numarası OLO818; buradaki 818 Ağustos 2018 tarihinde dolum yapıldığını gösteriyor.

Nadurra Oloroso az sayıda üretilen viskilerden. Bu nedenle, her yeni seri, fıçılardaki doğal farklılıklar ve ABV oranı su ile düşürülmediği için tat ve güç bakımından çeşitlilik gösteriyor. Kıyaslamak için; Glenfarclas 105 veya Aberlour A’bunadh gibi, fıçı sertliğindeki diğer şeri bombası viskileri aklınıza getirin. İşte Glenlivet Nàdurra, bu rakiplerine kıyasla daha hafif profile sahip.

Glenlivet Damıtımevi, Nadurra serisindeki viskilerini ortaya çıkarmak için halen geleneksel metodları tercih ediyor ve aldıkları sonuçlar çok başarılı. Eğer denk gelirseniz, fırsatı kaçırmayın. Ve şerisever viskiciler, siz mutlaka deneyin.

1. Nadurra adı Galce, İngilizce’de “natural”, Türkçe’de ise “doğal” anlamına geliyor.

First launched in 2005, The Glenlivet Nadurra Series has a wide range of whiskies. Released in 2014, this powerful Oloroso matured Nadurra is a part of them. The other members are “16 years old (discontinued)”, “first-fill selection” and “peated whisky cask finish” bottlings.

Nose; nutmeg, caramel, honey.
Palate; sun-dried grapes, ginger, chocolate-covered strawberries, sweet spice, rich and oily.
Finish; medium to long, warm as expected from a cask-strength, spicy and powerful.
After a few drops of water, the whisky polishes its sharp edges and reveals more red fruit notes.

The Glenlivet Nadurra is matured in first-fill ex-oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. NAS, bottled at 60.2% ABV, caramel added and non-chill filtered with bright gold in colour. My bottle’s batch number is OLO818 and 818 refers to the bottling date, August 2018.

Nadurra Oloroso is bottled and released in small batches. Each batch is unique, with slight variations in flavour and strength due to natural differences in the casks and the whisky being bottled without dilution. Consider other sherried, cask-strength Speyside/Highland scotches, such as Glenfarclas 105 or Aberlour A’bunadh. The Glenlivet Nadurra stands on the lighter side in comparison to its rivals.

The Glenlivet Distillery uses traditional production methods to craft these unique cask-strength whiskies, and the result is outstanding. Don’t miss the opportunity if you come across one. And hey, sherried whisky lovers, this one is a must for you.

P.S:

1. The name of the expression, Nadurra, originates from the Gaelic definition of “natural”.
2. The Nadurra Oloroso is also bottled at 48% for Travel Retail. I have that one too and will review it later.
3. Most of the Scotch produced at The Glenlivet Distillery is sold as single malt whisky. The rest is used in Pernod Ricard’s blended whiskies, such as Chivas Regal.
