1798 yılında David Robertson tarafından kurulan Highland Park Damıtımevi, köklü bir mirasa sahip ve nev-i şahsına münhasır viskiler üretiyor. 2020 yılında piyasaya sürülen No. 1 ise, markaya ait fıçı sertliği serisinin ilk üyesi.

Viski koyu amber renginde, NAS, doğal renginde ve soğuk filtrasyon uygulanmamış, %63.3 ABV ile şişelenmiş. Amerikan ve Avrupa şeri meşe fıçılarında olgunlaştırılmış.

Release No. 1, damıtımevinin ham ve güçlü yönünü ortaya koyan iddialı bir şişeleme. Yeni başlayanlara pek uygun değil; tadım yapmak ve viskiyi açmak vakit istiyor. Nose: vanilla, sea breeze, honey and orange peels.
Palate: nutmeg, dried sultanas, red fruits, sweet smoke, earthy and powerful.
Finish: long, with notes of ginger and oak.
Oh, definitely needs water. Enjoy 1 or 2 drops at first, then add more as needed.

The whisky is matured in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks. It has a dark amber colour, is cask-strength and non-chill-filtered, with a natural colour. It is bottled at 63.3% ABV.

Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 1 is a bold and ambitious release, showcasing the distillery’s raw side. It is not suitable for beginners, offering enthusiasts a rewarding journey of power, complexity, and balance when enjoyed with patience. Sitting solidly in the “good” range among cask strength whiskies, it provides a rich, exploratory experience, though price and comparisons with other whiskies may introduce some reservations.

1. Highland Park’s warehouses sit in the path of cool, salty winds from the North Sea, and this maritime climate allows the whisky to mature steadily and evenly, without the sharp swings of heat or cold seen elsewhere.
