Elixir’in single maltı, denediğim tüm Glen Garioch bağımsız şişelemeleri arasında en az sevdiğim oldu. Elbette kötü bir viski değil; içilebilir ama bence aroma profili zayıf ve içimi sıkıcı. The Single Malts of Scotland Series was first launched in 2005. Selected by Oliver Chilton and bottled by Elixir Distillers in London, this Glen Garioch 10 is part of the Reserve Cask Range.
Nose; honey, white lilies and pine.
Palate; golden pears, cedar-like wood shavings, ginger, citrus and fresh-cut grass.
Finish; medium, sweet spice and malty dryness.
The wood influence is overwhelming—I’m not a fan of it.
Distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2022 as part of the ninth series—Parcel No. 9- this whisky is a small batch blend made from five barrels. It exhibits a pale yellow natural colour and is non-chill-filtered. It is 10 years old, has an ABV of 48%, and was matured in oak casks.
The whisky is my least favourite among all Glen Garioch independent bottlings. Of course, this is not a bad whisky; it is drinkable, but I find it boring and lacking in aroma. I waited at least a couple of weeks, and nothing has changed. If you have had a chance to taste it, go ahead. However, it is not worth pursuing.
